Read Around Dubai
GEMS Founders School – Al Mizhar has launched “Read around Dubai” competition for secondary students from Year 7 to Year 11 aimed at making reading an enjoyable activity while exploring Dubai's famous landmarks.
The school was thrilled with the students' enthusiasm and creativity, as the competition quickly gained momentum. The students had taken the challenge seriously, and the photos showcased their creativity and love for reading.
One of the highlights of the competition was the involvement of comedian and children's author, David Williams, when Year 8 student Zeina Naeem had asked him to help with her entry during the Emirates Literature Festival. David was delighted to help and even provided a personalized message of encouragement to Zeina, inspiring her to read more.
Other entries that caught the judges' attention included Year 7 student Tareq Rashid reading while doing a basketball trick, Year 9 student Hala Sharaf reading at the Dubai Fountain show. The winner was Mohammed Karam Osman, who showcased his reading skills underwater!
